There are some interesting developments we as Citizens have been witnessing taking place in our Nations political scenario since the formation of Arvind Kejriwal Aam Aadmi Party. Not going in to the whole issue thought let me be more specifically focused on PR exercises by Congress and BJP vis-a-vis the media .Let me start with a very old panchtantra story which i read during my child hood.
Once a man bought a healthy Goat from a cattle auction which was taking place in his neighbor village.He placed this goat on his shoulders and started walking towards his village where he had to cross a bushy jungle.He was happy since was thinking how his family would feel happy seeing the goat and how he and his family will have feast of the goats meat.As he was walking three thief's saw him and the goat. They wanted the goat for them self's to have a feast so they followed the man and once they saw there was no crowd they worked on a plan to take the goat from the villager.So 1st one of them walked fast and as he crossed over the villager seeing him and his goat commented hay why are you carrying a dog on your shoulders and walking.In reply the villager correcting the 1st thief said are you blind this is not a dog but a goat.The thief hearing the reply laughing loudly says to the villager what a fool you are calling a dog a goat and just walks away.The villager as he walks thinks what kind of fool the man is calling a goat as a dog. After some distance the 2nd thief walks fast as he cross over the villager says to him hay you got a excellent healthy dog and why are you carrying over it on your shoulders and walking. Are you a fool. At this the villager goes wild and says this is a goat and not a dog you fool .the thief laugh's at the villager and says what a fool are you calling a goat a dog and walks away.Now the villager thinks why has two people said the same thing and questions him self ? Did i buy a dog instead of a goat ? Then tells him self let me see if any other person tells this.Just that moment the 3rd thief crossing him tells hay friend are you a fool carrying a dog on your shoulders.At this the villager was convinced that indeed he had bought a dog instead of goat and by thanking the thief leaves the goat there and walk's away and the thief's take the goat.
For last 6 months seen some thing similar been tried by Congress and BJP PR machinery in some kind of understanding with corp orates and media in projecting as if the elections when ever held will be a by polar elections between Congress Rahul Gandhi and BJP Narendra Modi.All media debates, Corporate functions like CII and FICCI, University's invitations for key note address etc. Event management co's where going full hammer & tong through out the country.Many where surprised why such a thing going on as if we where a presidential form governance. Big Corp orates divided them selfs in to 2 groups making it Cong Camp and BJP camp. Aam Aadmi Party was blanked out from media.Certain media personality's who where full praise of Arvind Kejriwal in IAC suddenly in a matter of weeks where trying to cast aspirations on AAP.Media them self's divided in to 2 parts a section of media acting pro BJP and other section of media acting pro Congress.Anchors taking up roles of pro Congress & pro BJP camp's from the same channel.It will be naive of me if i say Congress and BJP are scared of Aam Aadmi Party but it's clear from this kind of actions they are apprehensive of Aam Aadmi Party because of their actions like 1, AAP has opposed the political class as a whole .2,They have been very successful in building party base fast. 3,Entry of AAP has definitely disturbed the mathematics of political party's as a whole so is seen with suspicion and is apprehensive of it's unpredictability .
But as per my starting comments when i specifically analyse the whole events which has un folded till now only reminds me of the story and question my self only time will tell us "Weather the citizens where carrying on their shoulders a goat or a dog" since the voters has been continuously been attacked through electronic and print media which are trying to influence in creating a perception.Now it's up to citizens how they are going to protect their mind from influences or get tamed like that villager who ultimately was fooled by the thief's.
